The LAE hates Paul Pastorek because...

A) isn't an "educator,"
B) thinks the way we "educate" children in the state of La is screwed up and wants it changed,
C) was appointed by a governor with an "R" behind his name.

I think both A and B are positives and C shouldn't matter at all--but, the LAE doesn't see it that way.

The LAE is a union, which means that they're all about supporting lazy, status-quo minded, useless types who show up to collect a paycheck. Think "autoworker," if you will. There's a sense of entitlement because, you know, they're teachers and they've been trod upon for years and now it's time for them to get what they deserve.

Well, here's what they deserve:

1) Work all year long, like the rest of us.
2) Get paid and, ultimately, keep your job, based upon how well you do your job.
3) Turn out a product that, if you can't be proud of it, it's at least acceptable to the people paying for it (the taxpayer).

The LAE's sole function is the making of excuses. Pastorek doesn't want to hear excuses. It's not a surprise that they'd like to see him gone.
